I say it's worth it, just got to find the right guy. Some of the guys in this group will start talking about your driveway, 3 more will chime in on that. Then someone will say something about your neighbors tree. 3 more to chime in. The jeep might come up in another 4 days, maybe the fact that you don't have the same color garden hose as so and so, Sorry for the mini rant, but some of these guys..........

Looks good...fair starting price for sale...shouldn't have to negotiate down much for sale...but at least in my area I would think its just a bit high - maybe more like 5500? But it might depend on how long you are willing to wait to find just the right buyer.

I agree with Robert. I think it's worth your asking price or damn close to it. Not sure about rust but it looks nice and clean and with the odd fire and T18 and OD, I'd buy it if it were closer. But of course, I'd try to talk you down a bit. :rofl:Are those original miles or is there more on it ?

There's a story to tell on mileage:
I bought the jeep from a close friend who bought the it from TC's Offroad Inc. in Kent, WA. 10/23/84. At that time the odometer showed 4743 miles. The Buyer's copy of the Odometer Mileage Statement (citing the whole list of federal requirements etc) stated that the odometer broke at 62,544 and could not be reset to the actual miles at time of malfunction, so the odometer was reset to zero. TC's put a label on the dash that shows 62,544. Adding what the odometer showed (4743) would indicate the jeep had 67,287.
My friend got a second Odometer Mileage Statement that said the actual mileage was 67,287. My friend's health deteriorated so I bought the Jeep from him in 1986. He gave me all the associated paperwork/history on the jeep. Assuming all this is the gospel it would mean the jeep has 62,544 + 34400 or 96,944 now. Although prospective buyer's eyes may glaze over, I'd have to tell them this weird story rather than have them assume the jeep had 134400 mile considering it's 48 years old.
I put 34400 as the odometer reading because that what it shows now. What ever it is it runs great and has taken me on many a deer, elk and two moose hunts in some rugged mountains of Washington and Idaho.

Certainly I'll consider any offer I may receive plus welcome anyone to Meridian that wants to see the jeep. I'll be 87 in 3 weeks so I'd like to see this jeep go to someone who loves them.

That’s a great Jeep. Arguably the best year with all the best options/accessories, and lots of extras (soft top, winter tires...) for a very reasonable price. Good luck with your sale! It will find a good home.

Now roll up your hose and mow your lawn.

I think your price is very reasonable, especially since it looks rust free (at least from the pictures). I really like the color, and the hardtop, and the drivetrain, and the overdrive, and it should have a flanged dana 44, and, and.

If I had the money, I'd be shoving it your way. Any way you want to accept a payment plan? Hahaha kidding not kidding, dont tell my wife :)

Thanks for your comments and interest. I sold my Jeep today. I've had great times in my Jeep so now it's time for someone else.

Glad to hear it coty. Hope the new owner will enjoy it as much as you have. I have owned my Tux for 49 years and it is hard to think about selling but I know it won't be long. I'm 79.

Sorry you had to give it up. Hopefully the new owner will treat it right. I'm on the other end of that deal - driving the TJ my dad bought new and owned for 19 years. I'm glad I was able to get it from him directly and not from his estate, if you know what I mean.

Sometimes it is good to sell what we loved. And go to an other style of life.
