1974 Dana 20 Rear Output Shaft Single Shim

Can anyone tell me in their experience rebuilding a Dana 20 is the baseline spacer for the rear output shaft behind the speedo gear approx 13/64 In thickness, then you add the thinner shims from there?

 

I rebuilt my Dana 20 this spring, and it was lots of trial and error. I started with a stack that matched what I took off, torqued, checked endplay, then pulled it off and adjusted. I tried to make the changes based on measuring endplay then adding/removing shims to get to spec, but it didn’t work quite that easily. Maybe someone else has a better method, but I got pretty quick at pulling the yoke off and setting the dial indicator back up. Took about 4 or 5 tries for me.
