So i am in the process of rebuilding the motorcraft 2100 on my 304. I pulled off these two spacers. The one n the right i know is the thick spacer/Gasket for the carb. But why what is the spacer for? Probably the main question is why is there a PCV port on it, when the 2100 has one already on it? I am going to probably ditch it, or is there an actual purpose for it?

I believe it is more of an insulator.. Help keep heat from the carby. I had one here but can't find it..

Year, model, application? There are early 2100s that have no PCV port and used a spacer to provide a PCV port. Ford, not Jeep, AFAIK.

Even the earliest Jeep apps for the 2100 used two paper gaskets and a plastic insulator.

This carb is in my 79 CJ5. The 2100 i have has the PCV port on it, that is why I am confused why there are two. One was capped off when i got the jeep.

Could be to provide a vacuum port for a brake booster.

I just finished my 304 rebuild on my 72 I have that spacer as well that port goes to my PCV valve as my carb does not have a port to run for the PCV
