I'm not trying to hyjack this thread but... I have the two piece shaft with the carrier bearing sitting on my shelf. Is ther still alot of these set-ups around? I saved it as one of those "you never know when you might need it" parts.

I've said it before, I'll say it again.

If you start out with "I don't mean to hijack..." It's gonna get moved, so please just start your own thread. By your own admission you're hijacking someone else's thread.

Oh definately still lots of them out there. As long as the carrier bearing is good somebody will eventually be looking for one if you're looking to sell.

Sorry, maybe hyjack was a stong word. I'm totaly not familiar with this set up. Thought it might be a way to learn alittle something about this style drive shaft, without having to start a new thread. Next time i'll be more careful.

I got one Jeepster with one, and without, and today I picked up another one. A 71 with an auto but I haven't tore into it yet to see what it has.

Hi John, you named that one yet? Hope you had a good, safe trip home.

It was quite a longer ride home as we kept getting off the highway looking for a place for lunch, but we made it home fine.
Somehow my wife named it Binks. I got to go and free up the right rear drum so I can roll it off the trailer now that it has wheels.

Yeah, a bit too much. First she wanted to rename the puppy!

Oh, and the 71 auto has the carrier bearing also.
