Ballast Resistor location

    1. Where is the stock location for it?
    2. Is engine heat a factor in it's placement?...ie...can it be mounted near the block or does it have to be as far away as possible?

    What vehicle are you talking about?

    Yes, heat will be a factor. Increased heat will alter the resistance value of a resistor.

    On the firewall just to the left of center a couple of inches, and a couple of inches below hood-hinge level. Maybe a little bit more, but that is the general area for it.
