I think I have a line on some 33x10.50x15 BFG ATs to replace the Swampers. Too loud. I relived my youth, buying bias Swampers again. Glad that chapter is hopefully coming to a close. They are pretty round, balanced easily, and hardly any flat spotting, but the noise, sweet mother of pearl, the noise! My wife doesn't enjoy riding in it because of the noise, and it really takes away from the Jeep. At first, they were ok, but I just must be getting old, because they are now obnoxious to me.

X2, the older I get the quieter and smoother I want my ride. :schooled:.

I forgot to mention just how quiet my ride into work was. It's a 30 mile or so ride, and it was beautiful. I also noticed the (considerable number of) potholes were much less of an issue, as the sidewalls absorbed the shock, rather than the entire Jeep. I previously was running 20 psi in the front and 17 in the rear with the Swampers, and now am at 30 front and 25 rear on the BFGs, and it was much, much smoother.

Farm Jeep needed some new spring bushings in the rear. They were really beat, no rubber in the frame mounted eye. I did fronts in the springtime. Nothing too exciting here. IMG_20231106_232228.jpg

This is a milestone. My old Diehard AGM has quit! This battery was used when I got it. It has lasted over a decade!
I bought a new Interstate AGM and installed it. Still no start. I figured damn, the old battery was still good. I took off my starter and threw on a spare I had. Still no start. Tested the new battery, voltage was low. Would not charge. My luck with Interstate remains the same....terrible. I wanted to buy from an independent shop but I am just buying an Optima as that's all the AGM in stock at Advance. I need a battery today and the guy said no issues to return the Optima if it goes bad.

The AGM in my f150 is starting to worry me a bit, seems to be turning over slower than I remember it. The date code on the battery shows it's from 2016, so it's getting a bit long in the tooth, but your decade definitely has it beat!

I'd love to hear advice/stories of brands to shop for when ordering a new battery - if I recall there's really only a few brands with a bunch of rebadging.

Odyssey (made 30miles west of me) is rebadged into a few different house brands I think napa, autozone, and O'Reilly agm. The molds are the same but the cap and body colors vary.

I wonder, even though the batteries are all being built in the same factory for different retailers if all retailers require the same quality levels? Wife worked for a company that made only parts for home and travel trailer appliance manufactures like stoves and water heaters. Many of the exact same parts that were built fit several different store brands like sears, whirlpool, frigidaire wedgewood, ect. But some appliance assembly plants (brands) required a much higher quality and much closer tolerances of the same part. Therefore any of these higher quality parts that failed quality control standards were simply reboxed for sale to one of the other company's with lower standards :sneak:.
