V6 oil pump

    I'm in the process of rebuilding my oil pump...and while inspecting the cover assy I noticed that the bypass valve does not seat properly. I can spray cleaner from the back side, and it goes through...doesnt seat. Whats the deal here? Can this be replaced? I've looked online for a new cover assy with no luck. Thanks

    There may be debris holding it open. Did you try flushing it from the oil filter side?

    I havent givin it a full cleaning yet. I'm also a bit surprised at how low the spring tension is. I can open it with barely any pressure against it.
