Anybody Running A Jetronic/cis Fuel Injection On Their Oddfire?

I keep seeing these threads about how hard it is to run EFI on a Dauntless and I keep wondering why I don't see people just run a mechanical fuel-injection setup. The old Bosch "Jetronic" setup worked really well for a lot of cars and the simplicity of it appeals to me greatly. Basically just pulls air around a spring-loaded plate that controls a plunger that meters fuel into the injectors, one wire for the fuel pump and you have a working system. OK, a few more wires to add the cold-start injector and WUR (think choke) but it's still dog-simple and since it couldn't care less about anything but airflow and temperature there shouldn't be any worry about the oddfire nature of the 225.

I guess the fact that the majority of these were on 4-cylinder motors could be annoying. One could find one for a 6-cyl motor (not that hard) or if you weren't going to drill a manifold for injectors at every port one could just dump four injectors into the area where the carb used to sit and it might work out.

    So, has anybody tried this?

Six cylinder versions would likely be Porsche. After you get your hands on one you can boast to folks about how rich you used to be.

    Just find a Delorean. :D
That was the same Peugeot-Renault-Volvo (PRV) engine that the Volvo used.

Had this setup on my VWs. Needs an O2 sensor too, at least mine did.

I don't understand why people say EFI on a dauntless is so hard. I just megasquirted mine a couple of months ago and it was not that tough. Don't be afraid to go the EFI route.
