Hope everyone was okay. I used to do the "little jack" medicine when needed (or not) but I'm old now. ;) Of course, maybe that's why I'm old... :D

I'm perplexed but not convinced it's the carb or the cam or the heads or the distributor, BTDT. R)

Man! What a pain this is becoming for you, although you sound much more calm now then when you started this thread. :)

i tell ya, the only reason i have been calm is because i havnt been working on it as much... im to frustrated to even look at it right now.... i am going to sit down and recap on what i have done and go from there.... sherri is due in a week, and fishing season is almost over, so me and my boy have been spending as much time in the boat as possible.... once winter starts up i will finish her up.

just something to ponder, and it may have already been mentioned, and the only reason i bring it up is because it happened to me a long time ago, could the cam timing be a tooth off,if it is the valves wont open @ the right time and the dist will be off as well even if you line it up with a timing light, this happened to me with the 225 about 19 years ago, thing with my incident was that the timing marks on the cam sprocket were wrong from the factory it had the normal dot in one of the teath and the other was a hole drilled thru one of the center spokes, like to have never figured it out, mine was out so bad that it bent the valves on my fresh valve job not only once but twice, timed it by eye,#1 bottom dead center and exaust valve just about to open and realized that the hole in the spoke was lined up perfectly, and no more bent valves ran live it was supposed too after that, not saying that you are that far out but one or two teeth would make it run like crap thing thats got me as i recall it runs fine for a few seconds right?
