    The only real weak points of the AMC 20 rear are the thin tubes (fixed with a mild, well-designed truss) and the 2-piece shafts (fixed with aftermarket 1-piece shafts). You might have less into beefing up the 20 than re-gearing something else to match the front.

    Keep in mind that the DJ Postal Jeeps also used a centered D44, but the spring pads may have to be modified.

    I actually found them by calling a local axle shop and he is changing out these for new setup. He said that he would open them for me and see what they looked like
