Yes, you could have had a frame swap before the Tux was yours. Do you have an 8322 prefix on your serial plate on the firewall? If your Tux is a '64, it originally would have had regular 2 piece shackle plates with plain bolts, and your front springs would have been 6 leaf front/5 leaf rear (2-stage) springs. I'm pretty sure even the Mklll Tuxes had fairly soft springs, so yours probably aren't original.
I see in your photo that the springs are pretty flat (not much arch) and that your front frame horns are nicely boxed, which isn't stock.

    No plate, unfortunately.
And yeah, I agree, it's either not a Tux Park, or (more likely) the springs were swapped out with heavy duty springs at one point. It's definitely not a M38A1 chassis (since none of the correct bits are there). And yeah, the boxed horns are a nice perk. :) Might have been the PO when he added the saginaw box.

Can you post pics of the entire JEEP? I'm curious to see what Tux parts are on it still. The pics might also help us solve the question as to just what you have there. There are tons of possibilities with a vehicle this old. Different body on the original frame or different frame under an original body. Who knows. And without a VIN plate were kind of left to guessing.

I'm not sure when the switch was made from C shackles to the newer style. A good quality new H style shackle would be my option. They are more common in "lift" style than the C shackles. Maybe you could even make your own.
