I got a chain clutch control assembly, has anyone used one or installed? I’m interested in if I wasted my money!
I also have a Muncie 465 and Dana 18. What would be a fair value to throw them on the market for?

if you are talking about the one from advance adapters, I installed one on mine a few years ago, it works great, much better than the original linkage. It was definitely worth the money in my opinion.

Had one years ago before switching to hydraulic. Worked great and solved all my problems at the time. No idea what they are worth anymore, new or used.

Are these a combined unit? In other words - do you have the adapter to mate them together, as I believe that is where most of the value would be?

I used a chain type linkage many years ago and it always worked flawlessly. That Jeep got sold off, but I have another chain control in my current CJ5. They just work so well, I really like them, maybe more than hydraulic.

Why will they not work on a stock 134 bell housing?

I have the AA Chain adapter and it works great! Not a very hard install. Just make sure everything is lined up.

I pick up SM465s for $50 to $150 depending on condition. They are not that sought after now days as most folks are looking at 5 speeds outside the older Jeep folks.

D18s - I had to pull the good parts and scrap a bunch of cases a while back (and T90s). Not many folks really after them. I still have several on the shelf as I keep them for 'future builds' and to replace if I break things.

I tried to sell an sm465 for $50, not a single hit in two years, location probably has a lot to do with it. I attribute lack of interest to the strength of the transmission to begin with, they never wear out! The adapter if it is like the one for an SM420 will cost north of $400, as mentioned, that's where the money is. Good Luck!
