yes - there is a spring from the fork forward to a tab that is at the the front of bellhousing, and there is a pedal return spring (for the through the floor pedals) that is along the outside edge of the frame.

Do you have any images of the fork spring installed? My V6 only has a pedal return spring and I don’t see any obvious places where the fork spring would attach.

I'll see what I can do in terms of photo - but it is the same as what Ron shows above.

Thank you. I definitely don’t have a fork spring. My fork was rigged up by the PO (including being cut and welded at some point) and doesn’t even have a hole to attach a spring. Is this something I should add?

My Jeep seems to be shifting fine and I don’t smell any clutch burning, but if the fork isn’t being pulled by a return spring, I’m concerned that there may be some dragging with the clutch causing premature wear.

The fork spring holds the throwout bearing away from the pressure plate fingers at rest, and keeps the cable in the socket. Better to have it, if possible.

Hope this picture helps, it clarified it for me...FYI spring is same as break pedal return, about 4 bucks most places. Attaches via the 2 hole bracket on the lower large bell housing bolt, and a small hole top of clutch fork.
