While looking for information on checking gear oil levels with the D18/T14 I came across this on the CJ2A site. Very interesting and I sure don't remember seeing anything like this when I rebuilt my t-case. Knowing that the PO of my jeep " left a lot of parts off" got me wondering. Or was this a patent that never made it to production. Looks like it would be easy to fabricate... easier than getting my t-case onto the workbench anyway.

I believe the "oiler" was an early T-90 item, long gone by the time of the T-14. I think it is also common to eliminate it during rebuilds as they found it didn't really do much. I think there is actually a kit to eliminate it...plugs for the mounting bolt holes.
