is anybody running one? Looking for one with 90 degree fittings off the block...

    Any pressure issues at startup?
    Words of wisdom?
I don’t have any other option.

In my case, my radiator outlet is a very tight fit with my oil filter. It was always a tight fit, but when I put the new oil pump on as part of the rebuild, it seems to have gotten tighter. I have to loosen a couple of the radiator mounting bolts and lift the passenger side of the radiator a bit to allow the filter to screw on or off. Once on, it fits with a mm of clearance, but you can't get it on or off. That may not be rejeep's issue, but I have considered going to a remote filter for this reason.

the engine is not native to the vehicle..
lower radiator hose is a problem.. no Buick 90 degree adapter, may have to go to different fittings..

radiator can be modified, but then i don't have easy access to off the shelf parts if there ever is a failure..
Im big on keeping as much stock as possible..

I would be more worried about failure of aftermarket oil filter hoses then I would about failure of a radiator. If you do go with the remote filter out make sure you use good quality hoses.

I have the same issue with mine, the oil filter wants to rub on the radiator hose. I run a small diameter oil filter to prevent that. Yes, I'm giving up a little bit of filter capacity but I change my oil pretty often anyway. 20180817_095128.jpg

From the picture, what year of jeep and what engine? Your picture looks like a 72 or later.

Aftermarket radiators suck... I trust a good quality hose over cheap brass any day...

    Non native application...

I’ll post up some pictures later tonight, maybe somebody has a better idea..

johneyboy03 a member here , has been through that gauntlet...........will effect oil pressure , can be a hassle getting sizable #10 lines to and from it, while keeping it away from heat sources.....there are smaller/ shorter Oil filters that will fit that location.... I have remoted an oil filter years ago on a cj. Good advice given when selecting your remote hoses, lot of heat there. No oil sarvation or start up problems.
Turned out to be a good idea

I've gotten away with #8 lines for a remote filter, but the runs were short at 12"-14". As Tarry advises, #10 lines are better.
Keep in mind there are a variety of stock oil pump bases that angle the filter in different directions if that would help. The mid-1990's Land Rovers are the most common bases, but the Buick 198 and 215 are angled differently than Jeeps 225. I much prefer not to go with a remote mount.

I can believe nobody makes a 90 deg adapter for a Buick engine

The short, small diameter filter that I use is a WIX # 51042 . Cross reference for your favorite brand.

Did you look at the Haden 291 that I listed above? Sure looks like a 90 deg adapter to me.

Of all the suggestions I have seen, and given the V6's known oil pressure issues, I would look at a different timing cover oil filter adapter and/or a smaller filter. My thinking is based on several factors 1. the more connections the more opportunities for leaks, 2. a 90 degree fitting is equal to 1 foot of tubing length, in an engine with known oil issues, any potential leak or loss of oil pressure could be catastrophic. I understand that it has been done successfully, according to posts in this thread, but, can you duplicate those systems exactly and achieve the same results? I'd try a smaller filter before going to the expense of a remote oil filter. Good luck, whatever you choose.

Saw and ordered. I was referring more to a solid adapter like ford or mopar uses...
