I think it will be ok but I would put a little grease on the end of the push-rod.

Do you have the rubber boot, in good condition, to keep the crud out?

I’m replacing a brake master cylinder for the first time. I ordered the Raybestos from Rock Auto and when I went to move the pushrod assembly over to the new one I noticed that what I assume is the surface/face of the primary piston is not conical like the old one. It seems to me that it will not accept my original push rod retainer as a result. My set up looks just like it is supposed to in the TSM. I think this question might be related to this previous discussion but I’m not sure. I didn’t completely understand the discussion. Do I need to get a new, universal push rod set up or something? Pics of my pushrod, old, and new MC’s.
