Hempstead green hard to find, The Testors brand enamel 1630 jade green metal flake OR 2945 turquoise metallic enamel rattle can, while metallic was NOT the actual finish, these are in my opinion on both sides of the actual color we all see and desire. If they were mixed that would be the one with a metallic finish enamel.
Ah, Focker, the engine LOOKS too blue of a color to me.

There is an optical DILLUSION in the photo there too, it appears that your pulleys are NOT in alignment.

It works well...For better results use a moisture canister on the compressor hose.

It's too bad that bucket site made off with Focker's photos. I wonder if there is a better option? ;) :sneak:

I'm not a natural painter, but I've been trying to clean and repaint everything as I work on it.

For comparison, this was March, 2017, when it rolled off the trailer from California.

This was using Hampsted Green Metalic Dupli-Color (Honda Car) which as said is hard to find. When I did this some years ago it was nearly exact to the Dauntless color with the metal flake. Picture004(1).JPG

What's the best "silver" paint folks have found for painting the exhaust manifolds? POR-15 Silver Engine Enamel? Or in this pic from the archives - is bronze an option?

The other question I wanted to ask is about temperatures. My garage isn't heated, and the ambient temperature is typically 15 at night and maybe 30-40 during the day until around April. Would painting glass beaded and cleaned engine components be a mistake until it warms up?

Just about anytihng you apply to the exhaust manifolds will burn off. I've tried several "high temperature" paints and none can withstand manifold temps. Eastwood has a coating they claim will work and looks like cast iron, but you need to bead blast the manifolds before you coat.
    Eastwood Factory Gray Hi-Temp Coating
You must abrasive blast before you apply this product. They don't mention it on the page but it's on the can.
