I figured I would save one of these just to see if there was any interest in saving these old Jeeps left out there. Guess I was wrong. I always feel a little bit guilty for hauling off loads of old motors to the scrapyard but it turns out that they are worth more money at 3 cents a pound then as a completely rebuilt engine. Truly sad.

The 225V6 O.F. used to be popular in dirt track racing. What happened?

I'm thinking the not wanting to ship or the expense of shipping affects the demand also. With all the Jeeps you buy Daryl, I'd think you could find a good home for it in one of your purchases? Not sure how things are around Bonney Lake, but I don't think there are that many 225 equiped Jeeps around here any more. I picked up a spare 225 when I found one locally at a good price, just to have a spare in case I need one in the future.

Contact Richard. He may be interested or know someone who might be. He's been doing a lot of work to early jeeps with V-6's including Buicks.

I have five spares now and three in Jeeps. I have to stop collecting these. I want to rebuild one as soon as I get the 62 done. This one would fit the bill nicely, but I have to finish this first and your in the wrong part of the country for me.

Crazy thought for the day....could i put this 225 in a wagon with a th400/d18 (which I don't have). There is a wagon body and frame with title but no drive train but axles for sale here that might be a good candidate. It's probably over my head and beyond my checkbook but this engine seems like too good of deal to just let scrap...

I've worked on a Willys Wagons with the Dauntless/TH400/D20 years back, and it was adequate. Not particularly strong, but a bit better than the 226. My feeling was the automatic sapped some power from the V6. Like the Commando, the manual versions seemed a bit stronger.
With some mild modifications (torque cam, 4bbl, headers, ignition) the 225 really wakes up compared to stock form.

I have built more then a dozen Jeeps with a Buick v6, 400, 20 combo. They just plain work, use cheap oem adapters and a 400 will run forever behind 150hp.

For some reason I figured you'd have something...One day I should just make a trip with truck and trailer to Bonney Lake and see what I could find.

will it move a wagon reasonably well? I assume its better than a 226I6.

I put a 225 and a T14 into a wagon with 4.10 gears and it went pretty well.

I wish I had waited for this one rather than gathering up parts over the years to bolt on to the NOS factory replacement short block engine I found. Oh well.

My 3B needs this motor. Over 2k miles between us, just not practical:shrug:

Strap it to a pallet and get Fastenal to haul it. They've been pretty reasonable for me.

It would already be in my garage, except for the distance. I figured the costs of a 2600 mile round trip and the math just doesn't work out.

You just have to figure out a way to disguise the trip as something else. When I went up there for the CJ6, I was actually on a trip to visit two colleges that my Daughter was interested in. We just visited the colleges with a ratty trailer behind a ratty pickup. Then, since I was in the neighborhood, with a trailer, I loaded up a CJ6. You can't put a price on visiting schools with your kid.

I'd jump on it if distance weren't the factor and the fact that the price is 9/10ths what I paid for my 5.

Much respect for the Dauntless.

There's something I really want on CL right now, but it is 2 1/2 hours south of here. It just happens to be the next town over from my wife's best friend from high school. All day today I was sending her texts..., "Are you sure you don't want to go visit Amy this weekend?"

    "No! Why??"

"No reason. You just haven't seen her in a while."
