I got a 74 CJ5 supposed to be a Dana 30. trying to get to spindle nut (it has warn lock out hubs) it has a half round ring before you can get to the nut on the spindle. I can move it a little one way or the other but will not come off so I can access the nut. Any help would be appreciated IMG0001A.jpg

Pic is blurry but I believe in the four holes there are threads. Should be a set screw or two that need to be loosened or removed. Nut should spin off after that.

Small screws are sometimes allen screws

Nut from a set of lock-a-matic hubs. Good job not beating on it with a chisel! Before the internet everything came apart with a hammer. As said above, one or two set screws in those itty-bitty bitty holes.

That is the drag nut that is a critical part of a Warn Lock o Matic hub. Please use the correct allen (hex) wrench to remove the two setscrews that engage a special lock washer between the drag nut and the inner spindle nut. The allen is quite small, like 3/64" or something like that. There are about 5 holes in the side of the drag nut, but only 3 are threaded, the other two are for a spanner tool (that usually is not needed).
I assume your hubs are, in fact, Warn Lock o Matics? If they are not, I would love to swap you a pair of regular spindle nuts for a pair of undamaged drag nuts.
