It got's to go ! :n: And, on my Buick Turbo V6 , I think that's where the fuel pump is ? Could be wrong, just have'nt located it yet ? Thanks....... Richie___(_Lockman )

No. Yes. Drop the tank or remove the body.

Buick in a '75? If so, it's custom and you'll have to figure it out. Could be in the tank. If it's carbureted, it could be on the engine.

Thanks Tim , I may drop it , Or cut a hole in my tub? We used to do that in the Boats we repaired . And yes , it's most definitely Custom. Its a NA Turbo with a 700R4 tranny with Overdrive , in a CJ5 . I've got a far amount of pics on my media pg. Thank you , again for your insight .-------- Lockman.

Lifting the tub instead of dropping the tank is how restorations accidentally begin.

Make sure you center your access hatch on the sender! :banghead:

Later Wagoneers come with a hole in the floor to get to the sender. From the factory, it's riveted IIRC, and some type of fastener must be added when the cover is put back. Not an unreasonable idea, but dropping the tank on these is not difficult if the tank is empty. BTDT, and I would again rather than cutting the floor. Hardest part is getting your fingers in the gap between the frame and tank to hold the nut when assembling. A spot of weld would cure that.

BTW when I worked at the Jeep dealership (before the days of factory holes in Wagoneer floors), one of the line mechanics wanted to cut Wagoneer floors to access the top of the tank. Don't know whether he followed through - he was soon gone.

Some Postal DJs had an access plate to get to the sender in the rear bed area. I would be dropping the tank to access the sender.

Thanks Fellahs. That's how I'm gonna do it . I'm thinking of a thru deck type fitting , with a twist / screw type cover. ( Pic) Scew Out Deck Plate.jpg It's 4 7/16" wide. Installed quite a few, but thru Fiberglass decks. I can seal it and make it functional in my steel deck. BTW, I have the Buick GN Hot Air Turbo V6 that responds better to fuel pumps that are hot wired and accessible , in the future, if need be.
