Headliner For An Fc-150

    I tried to make a headliner using a piece of highly bendable plywood I got at a cabinet shop but just could not get it to fit right so went this route. The front and back are identical to what you would have if you did use a full headliner. I made them in 2 pieces using the multi piece paper template method. The pieces down the sides finish it off. Used white duct tape to cover the seams. First painted the already textured ceiling with two coats of Rustoleum semi gloss white.

    When I had my split window VW bus I made some rear side corner panels. I got hardboard type material from the hardware store. I boiled a pot of water on the stove and bent the board over the steam. I would run out to the garage to check my shape, then hold it over the steam again until I got it right. It turned out perfect.

    The pieces I used have very little bend to them. You can get 1/8" plywood, 2.7 mm, at any big box store. I wanted plywood as it is more resistant to moisture than a Masonite type product. The cabinet shops carry an 1/8" plywood that will bend in a very tight circle, 4" or so, for making custom desk corners etc., but it is not necessary for this.
