I'm having a brain fart or maybe a few of them.. I ordered a new linkage kit for my 1973.

I was missing the clutch fork spring on the Outside of the case. The one that hooks to the fork and to the belllhousing. (I think it hooks there)

I have that spring but cannot figure out how it is mounted.

Also...I guess I am missing a spring on the pedal. I don't remember it ever having one there but it shows up in the schematic pics. Looks like there's a eyelet on the pedal assembly for one. shows as part#19 but it isnt available. Any idea what a part # would be for that spring? And how does the spring mount that is on the fork to the Bellhousing? My google fu must be sucking tonight because I cannot find any intermediate bellcrank images anywhere.

I have that pic. I am wondering what 5.155-10 attaches to. And where 5.190-1 hooks to on the bellhousing and where at on the fork?

5.155-10 is missing from my Jeep, and the clutch pedal works fine. I think it goes from the hole on the clutch pedal casting to a hole on the "sled bracket" that supports the clutch and brake pedals and attached to the bottom of the dash to straddle the steering column. You can get this part - Jeep PN 5351118 available from Crown. IIRC it's a huge pain to install. One strategy is to drill a little hole in the firewall and stretch the spring into place with a piece of steel wire pulled from the engine compartment.

5.190-1 is a 5351252 clutch pedal return spring. Mostly it keeps the adjustment nut in the throw-out arm. There is a hole for this spring in the end of the arm - you can see it in the drawing. On my Jeep, this spring connects to a hole in the bell housing.

    What Tim said.
We would go thru the firewall with wire and a long pry bar to hook that up.
    Takes two people.

Thanks guys. I ordered the spring. Hopefully can get it in this week. Tons of other projects I need to get going on as well.
