Lift recommendations - Clear 33s 99 TJ

    Hey guys - Buddy needs a lift on his 99 TJ - what are the best ones out to be recommended? I have been looking at the standard BDS, Skyjacker, Rancho, and someone mentioned a 'Rock Krawler 3.5" short arm'...

    I know nothing about this type of rig, but I'll be putting in on with him.

    Thoughts?

    Many on another forum use a 2" spring lift and 1" or 1.25" body lift and 1" motor mount lift. I have a 2" BDS on my 05 with 3/4" day star spacers up front for leveling. I run 31's but could go to 32's. I had to do a 1" transfer case drop to get rid of vibrations. if you do the body and motor mount lift, the tc drop isn't required.

    I like a 3" suspension lift with no BL for 33s. I prefer a 33x10.50.
    Zone makes a decent 3" kit, or a 4.25 combo kit, good for the budget-conscious.
    I'd look seriously at Currie, Savvy, or MetalCloak front lower control arms as a minimum add-on. Key to avoiding death wobble is a solid, articulating connection between axle and frame.

    Ideally, I'd go to any of the three mentioned for a full kit if cost isn't an issue.

    Well - you was a touch too late Lynn :D - I ended up getting a Rough Country 4" X Series lift (full setup - front, rear adjustable control arms - short arm setup). We dug it out of the boxes last night and it looks real nice and beefy. Even got a SYE kit from Advanced Adapters as part of the package from Poly Performance.

    Got the recommendation from a local for a good all around setup.
