i bought a 1951 M38 that has a 225 V6. the casting number on the rear of the block says it is 67-74 jeep. reading the forums it says the motor mounts are B2383 AND B2384. I order up a set and the block side matches up but the mount side is too wide. the measurement between the portion that the bolt goes thru to attach motor mount to frame mount is too wide. the existing motor mounts fit inside a flanged channel and the below motor mount it too fide to fit inside the channel.

Now I know no history on this jeep. the guy i bought it from knows nothing of its history. so i can not trust that the frame mount are legit 225 mounts. If i can not find a narrower mount i will probably need to replace all parts of the mount.

    Any help would be appreciated,

    Robert

The M38 did not originally come with a 225V6. Does the frame mount look factory like maybe you have something other than a M38 frame?

An M38 with a 225 is definitely converted. Sometimes a conversion uses mounts from a 225 V6 CJ, but does not have to. Walck's says this is tne mount you need for the V6 CJs and Jeepsters; 1371313 is a GM part number, and Jeep usually adopted those for parts they sourced from GM. Motor Mount V6 CJ5 CJ6 Jeepster Commando Maybe it's the same as the Buick part for the 225, but I don't find much searching for that.

Might help to put pictures up of what you have, rahter than the new parts. Where did you find the info about B2383 and B2384? Those are not Jeep or GM numbers, so I expect they are a stocking number from an aftermarket seller.

I think you have mounts for chevy. The mounts you need are part nr 1371313 (left) and 1369788 (right). They will be stamped with a (l) and (R) so beware. They will mount either side but will make the engine tilt sideways.
