I decided on an aftermarket tool box, fitment wasn't too bad

I was going to pre paint inside the tool box area but remembered I had a quart of raptor bed liner left from the last project, so I taped off the flange areas for welding and sprayed that on. Not factory but I figured with the jack and some chains bouncing around in there it would hold up better.

This the first time I've seen bed liner applied to a jeep that I thought it was a good idea. The inside of my tool box is beat to hell, bed liner would be perfect.

I got the tool box welded in

Also put the gas tank in for fitment. I forgot how little leg room these things have

I need to correct this somehow. The rubber grommet will never fit

Could that be a fuel tank intended for a flat fender? Other wise everything looks as great as always!

My replacement tank on my 67 didn't fit too well. IIRC I had to raise the far side to get the neck centered. My 65 had a 1x1 oak board which raised the far side. Don't know if this helps or not.

Nothing looks better than correct tail lights on the back. It makes a truer picture of the project whether modified or stock.

Wanted to take my spot blaster and hit all my welds outside but with 26" of snow outside I made a mess of my shop instead

I told the guy that sold me the paint my plan, another coat of epoxy primer on everything then the high build primer. He told me that the epoxy shouldn't be applied over bondo and to go with just primer.... you ever hear of that ??

yes i have. the order i use is starting with metal, epoxy primer, filler of choice, high quality 2k filler primer of choice ,block sand with 220 wet, more 2k primer and more blocking this time with 500wet if smooth 2k topcoat of choice,if mot more 2k primer and more sanding.A guide coat of a contrasting color will help with sanding. i use flat black spray paint for a a guide,a dust after priming shows sanding scratches and dents.
