I am trying to find the measurement from the back of the engine at the bell-housing flange out to the end of the crank shaft where the fly-wheel bolts on. I need that stick-out measurement. If it doesn't stick out, then I need to know how far in it is. TIA. Walt.

Dan I could use the depth from the flat flange (at end of crank) to the first step down and also from the flat flange to the bottom of the bore where the small pilot bushing goes. Tnx

I measured 2 dauntless engines. Here's the results:
    Engine/bellhousing mount to crankshaft/flywheel mounting = .715" ..710"
    Crankshaft/flywheel mount to raised crankshaft shoulder ..= .360" ..330"
Raised crankshaft shoulder to bushing recess (outermost) = .675" ..715"
Raised crankshaft shoulder to bushing recess (innermost) .= 1.775" 2.130"

Always good to have multiple references for dimensions.
Just shows that the specs are all about the same but not exactly identicle.
The bore depth inside the cranksaft end varies the most.
    It's not very important.

Man you guys really come up with the data. How can I go wrong. I know this took time and it sure is greatly appreciated. I thought I was going to have to tear down my running jeep to get this. What a huge help. Thanks again jeepers. Walt.
