I purchased what I thought was the correct 1310 yoke for my Dana 27. Well when you put it on it doesn't seem to located the pinion bearing correct and you can grab the yoke and move it up and down and all around. So back to the drawing board to find a Dana 27 1310 yoke. Does anyone have a measurement on the splines or a part number?

The driveline shop had to cut a D30 1310 yoke and cut my D27 yoke and welded the 1310 to my D27 yoke.

I guess I could do that. But boy would it be easier to find an off the shelf part. My search shows that 4 cylinder CJ’s had that yoke but I cannot confirm

Looks like the depth on the stock yoke is around 1 13/16" from where the washer behind the nut sits down to the end of the splines (total spline length). The 1310 yoke I have is only 1 1/2" spline length. Perhaps I can find something on eBay...time to hunt!

Looping back to update the group. Found this yoke and have it on order. $110 shipped is not so bad considering a good forged yoke is around $75+. I have it on order now and will update once installed and torqued.

New yoke fit right up. I don't have a front driveshaft yet but the pinion bearing does have appropriate drag on it now. Unless something changes when I get the shaft on there I would recommend this yoke.

Any update? Hoping this worked to upgrade your Dana 25 to 1310 -Joints.

Another source for used yokes would be early Scout 80's. They used 27's front and rear with the 1310 u-joints.

He has a 27 which uses a different yoke than other differentials. The 25 and coarse spline 44 can interchange easily so are much more available. You can even use an 18 or coarse spline 20 transfer case yoke in a pinch.

Thanks, I have a dana 27 not a dana 25. I wanted to upgrade my yoke to 1310 u-bolts so I purchased the yoke of e-bay years ago, not know there were different yokes that would fit.

I fill the differential with gear oil and it poured out of the piñon. I bet I have a yoke from a dana 30 or 44 that is not long enough to to engage the seal.

I will see when I pull it off and measure.

    Thanks for all the help.

Yeah you have the wrong yoke. Order the one from the link above and then you can just get a new 1310 driveshaft.
