Jeep CJ-5 Rock Crawler Tons & 46" Tires
Too much exo cage, it looks like a jungle gym.
146.5 to 1 low low crawl ratio 46" tires. How long would it take to go 1/4 mile running 2500RPM?
5.33 minutes? (5 minutes, 19.8 seconds)
Probably way off...
hmmm. How do I get 7.26.
He needs even taller tires so he can do the 1/4 mile faster
I'll run through the numbers again when I'm home. This time when I'm awake.
I come up with 205.5'/min, or 6.42 minutes per 1/4 mile.
That’s a monster!
Ok. Redid the math. My mind doesn't operate well in mornings. I came up with what cadwelder did this time. We can't both be wrong, can we?
5280' / 4 =1320' x 12 = 15,840 inches in a 1/4 mile.
If the tires are exacly 46", the circumference is 144.44".
15,840" / 144.44" = 109.66 revolutions per 1/4 mile.
RPM of 2500 / 146.5:1 crawl ratio = 17.065 tire RPM.
109.66 / 17.065 = 6.426 minutes, or...
6 minutes, 25.56 seconds
We need a daily math problem to keep our brains functioning.
You get the gold star...I didn't show my work.
Yeah, but you got it first. You win!
Even though it was a snow day for the high school today...seems like I have heard that before...
Don't forget on some standardized testing (SAT) - incorrect answers count against you at 1/4 a correct answer counts for you. No random guessing aloud...but if you can eliminate one answer choice (out of 4), then guessing is slightly in your favor statistically (1/3). Of course, I use 5 answer choice multiple choice questions where the last choice is always 'none of the above,' but no penalty for guessing. And then there is the free response (where showing work is mandatory for credit)....as my students say, it doesn't do any good to cheat off the student next to you as they have no clue how to answer the questions either.
Hey, Ryan, is Fino calling us cheaters?!!!
I'm not sure... I zoned out through the middle of that.
Most of it went over my head, too.
Lets call it a group project - how's that?
I like that!
I concede. I miss figured the circumference. Good catch.
Teacher said it was a group effort--you win too!
