Completely scrubbed the inside of the brown one last weekend with hot soapy water and removed any remaining wasp and mouse nests I could find. Smells MUCH better inside after cleaning and a liberal dousing of Lysol. Since it lives on the wet side of WA state now, I sanded any bare metal on it where the paint had peeled and slapped on some rust stop brown spray paint. I also replaced the broken driver side window, straightened out and greased the window regulator, and pulled the master cylinder out of it and ordered a replacement. Not looking forward to getting into the brakes on this thing tho. One is dragging enough that I can't back it up in the yard. Right rear tire just peels out and the truck doesn't move. lol

I robbed the 31x10.50-15 Super Swamper tires on 8" wheels off this one this weekend to see if they fit the brown truck for use until I get new tires for it. The ones on it are shot, these ones are a little better, but not by much.

So...Brakes. As is so common on these things, when I went to install the new master cylinder over the weekend I discovered that the banjo fitting was cracked where the hard line screws into it. Can't get that fitting anymore, but apparently you can modify one from a pickup. I robbed one from the black cab this weekend that appears to be in good shape, but what I noticed the most is that on the cracked one it's thinner on one side than the other, whereas the fitting that's still good appears to be equal distance. The brown 150 is a 57, while I believe the cab I robbed the fitting from is a 1960.

You know that old saying...."you're only ever one broken bolt away from a 3 hour ordeal" Had one last rubber line to replace last night...so of course the hard line twisted off. Luckily the junction block was right around the corner so a new 8" piece of hard line was sourced relatively quickly and all that's left is to bleed the brakes. Assuming all goes well there, can probably drive it around the block this weekend. Still need to repair the area at the gas pedal, fix the hinge part of the pedal, and get a working electric fan on the radiator for any long term movement.

Broke a rear line after attempting to bleed them. Stuck bleeder so new wheel cylinders all the way around are on their way, and will be taking a close look at all the hard lines and replacing as necessary. Last thing I need is a brake failure.

FCs have big drums, 11"? I've never had trouble from brakes being weak. My old 150 would just about lift the rear tire off the ground in a hard stop.

After a new master cylinder, 3 new hard lines, and 4 new wheel cylinders it now has brakes. Gotta get a working electric fan in it, and fix the floor around the gas pedal and the gas pedal itself and it should run, drive, and stop.

Just realized I haven't posted any updated photos of this thing. I did replace the broken driver side window glass as well as threw some rust stop brown paint over the bare spots where the paint had peeled off just to keep it from getting rusty there over the winter.

It has a guard, another guard, and then the radiator out front... A PO did it.... I'm not real fond of it but we'll see what happens down the road. Undecided on whether this one stays or goes to fund other builds at this point. I do want to get some miles on it and the thing seems to run well, but it may not be a long termer. The GF wants it gone too, and daddy wants a new/used sled. :)

It's fun to put miles on an FC. I got about 600 on mine since I bought it in June. I'm definitely going to do a disc brake conversion on it this winter.

She'd like to see it go sooner rather than later. I guess if I hang a for sale sign in it while I drive it that's legit, right?

FC’s are cheaper to maintain than GF’s. Jes’ saying.....and FC’s don’t mind if you take another Willys for a spin, either.

Ain't that the truth! Teraflex 60 front housing just arrived this morning for "her" Jeep.... I just paid for all of it, she claims it.

Drove the FC around the block sunday. Runs and stops... Or did. Parked it and took care of a few things and then was going to drive it several blocks to go look at a newer snowmobile... No fire, no crank. Got power into the ignition switch, but nothing coming out of the start side when you turn the key.
