What's the distance from the bottom of the seat back to the dash for each of you?

I physically raised the mounting location (at the dash and the floor board), similar to the intermediate CJ's and picked up all kinds of room. In retrospect I probably didn't have to notch my wheel well at all. I raised the column vertically about 3 inches.

I'm sorry but you are just plain too skinny to have a jeep. My stomach is much closer to the steering wheel than yours. Or is your seat already moved back?

As far as I know my seat is in the only position it can be in? The back of it is up against the wheel well.

    No belly issues. :)

Ok well I did find one place that has prefab parts, though I would end up with a extra seat frame it appears.

    "MB-XL" Conversion Kit

Having trouble comfortably fitting behind the wheel of your MB? This may be just what you are looking for. We now offer a kit which includes a modified driver's seat and two wheel house pockets. With this modification, the driver's seat can be moved back 3" to allow for more belly and leg room. This is sold as a kit and requires modifying the rear fender wheel house by welding in a pocket to allow for clearance. Passenger side works with stock seat after installing pocket.
    $200 per 3 piece kit.
For pricing, please see XL seat under MB/GPW Body Category

I'm afraid MB/cj2 wheel houses are different from Cj3/CJ5 units- they were modified on the later models to increase leg room- I don't thnk you'll pick up any extra with that kit.

A lot of your issues still appear to originate with the position of the non-stock steering column. It looks like it is out of a mid to late 1960's GM product, possibly Corvair? It looks like the column is both tilt and telescopic. I assume your aware your column telescopes the wheel?
If your ever interested in selling the column, I'd be interested!

Looks like the steering wheel you have is fairly flat. Might try swapping it with one with more dish, you could probably gain 2-4" of leg room with just that.

I was afraid of that. Thanks for letting me know.

Yes Donny you will be the first in line. After Focker gave me the measurements. Who ever installed the column hit all those numbers very very closely, once the column was extended. If you decided you need one before I decide to part will it, I found another which seems to be exactly the same.

So what is the big attraction to this style of GM Column?

I have a similar style in my jeep without the telescope feature. It’s not the best choice due to age and parts availability. The cable operated turn signal switch is not one of GMs better design. Money would be better spent on an aftermarket column.
