On my 58, the PO had replaced one with some home made thing and the other is split. The only one I can find are either Omix or Walcks which are technically for the earlier CJ2/3. First, before I use the ones I got from Walcks, does anyone make the correct ones for CJ5 version? The part that welds to the body actually is beefier on the CJ2/3 than the 5, but will work. Second, are the welds done all along the edge or just a little near the top and bottom? As always, any pics would be appreciated.

My stock '56/'57 has none at the rear. Maybe yours did not either, hence the PO botch job.

The passenger side matches the pics I've seen of others. But it is now split. The PO made a 2 by 4 and sheet metal top that was heavy as hell. And hot as hell here in central Texas.

The bow socket on the rear corners of the CJ5 are both spot welded and have stick welded stitches along the top and bottom edges. One socket I salvaged had the stitch weld that wrapped pretty far around the corner too. I looked at the Omix aftermarkets and they were lighter gauge than originals.

That's why I got the Walcks version, even if not technically correct for the CJ5.
