I could use your help with some hub caps that I bought. Attached are a few of pictures of the rims (15") that I have. Markings on the spare seems to say K1 with a 2 below it. I'm not able to make out the markings on the others. No guaranty they are all the same. The spare is the rim pictured with the most rust. The distance between the center of each of the three "nubs" measures ~9 3/16" which should which equates to diameter of ~10.6". I bought a set of baby moon hub caps that measure 10 1/2 in. I'd appreciate your help identifying what rims I have and whether the baby moons that I have should work. I tried to install the baby moons by hooking two of the three nubs and the pushing up to catch the third, but I'm not having any luck. Based on other threads I've reviewed, these baby moons should work. Looking forward to your wisdom. IMG_2583.jpg IMG_2518.jpg IMG_2571.jpg IMG_2585.jpg

What's the ID measurement on the caps you have?

Unfortunately, I don't have the caps with me to measure the inside. The outside of the caps measured 10.5".

I'd guess they are base-model Cherokee/J10 caps from the '70s. Those 6-lug wheels use caps which have the RW&B AMC colors and are the wrong size for the CJ wheels.

The rusty wheel is a bit too myopic to say much about, but the other wheels look like CJ. They have marks from a turbine-style cap covering the entire wheel. This is correct for CJs of that era. No compatible moon-style caps from that era that I know of.

There are at least two different diameter hubcaps of that style. They are close in diameter, maybe 10 3/8" and 10 5/8" or numbers close to this. There are also several different "3 nub" wheels. Some of the differences have to do with the Kaiser-era Jeeps, and AMC -era Jeeps (center logo colors), and other differences are from the application, small Jeeps (CJ and Jeepster), and wagoneers and trucks. Generally, the 5" and 5 1/2" wide rims use the smaller diameter hubcaps (small Jeeps), and the 6" wide rims accept the larger diameter. To complicate this more, the later '70s went to a "4 nub" wheel (6"?) that accepts the larger diameter hubcap.
Its really a roll of the dice buying these dogdish hubcaps off ebay or similar sites, hoping to get the correct ones to fit your wheels.
