Going to look at this 62 cj5 duantless powers jeep soon and am wondering can I do something with the grill/rad to get it more centered, it is moved to the right some due to the steering shaft.

Would a rad with the tanks on top/ bottom help.

Looks like I can move it back toward the motor? Ditch the electric fan?

Can’t get pics to work can try and describe better if need be. Can email/send pics too
Tried to search but not what I was looking for.

    Thanks again.

Really need pictures of this one, as everyoneve steering conversion seems to be different. Sounds like the box is mounted high if the shafts interferes with the radiator, but it could just be the radiator that's been used...

I tried to do pics hope it works

Yes the box seems high to me but if it had a down flow rad it seems like it would be narrowed a bit to let me move it back over. Guy says it works ok n stays cool though.

    The grill looks centered?
If the rad is offset but works, I'd say let sleeping dogs lie. The lines cut into the grill are not ideal, but again, if it works...

I'm not sure I'd trust those tow bar mounts.

I have Herm’s Ford style setup. I like where the steering box is, do have interference with my lower port/hose, and will likely end up at a later style grill. This should move my radiator forward and out of the way.

Yes the grill looks centered but as u can see in the other pic there has been a lot of mods on the grill. I plan on clearancing the line a little.
I was kinda thinking if it works I’m not going to mess with it. Want to get a new grill at some point.

If this turns out to be too big of a mess I’ve thought about doing the herms ford setup.
    How does it drive.

I still have some kinks to work out with the steering shaft. Even with too much angle, it steers very well.

Keep in mind, that area is very crowded. Exhaust is a problem unless you get creative. I’m going to use two CV joints and a support bearing off the driver’s side frame area. This should make for a very smooth steering setup.

Just a note. I’ve run 30” radial and NDT style tires and I dont find either to require power steering. My box is from a manual steering 85 Ranger.
