    This is why I am begining to dislike the Dana 18

    I needed to take a used shaft from a spare T/C
    And a gear from another

    This repair will get me by untill the upgrade that I want. It just has to get me through upland game season.

    They do not hold up real well to a well placed shot from an ROA with magnum load and .459 mini-ball.

    Looks like maybe a lubrication issue or alignment issue. Notice majority of the wear on one end of the shaft?

    Lube has always been correct as long as I have owned it. It is one of the few that has not leaked very much.
    The wear pattern is consitant with all the other take out shafts that I have seen , one side is always worn more than the other with the other end opposite side worn to a lesser extent. Must be due to the helical cut gear loading.
