What did you guys do? I need to fab one up. I have a shifter that came with it, but its very poor quality and is for a different transmission anyway.

    Anyone got any pics? Thanks!

I always thought using an electric solenoid with a button on the shifter would be cool. Like a big rig or Mad Max blower.

I was thinking about a cable idea.. also a no longer active member used an air actuator.

I think I mounted the shift lever on the pin for the ebrake lever on the 420 ?
From there just modified or fabbed the linkage rod between the OD and the shift lever.

This is relatively easy. It either air or electric and a solenoid. I like it, but everything else is mechanical. It may actually be easier to do the solenoid. Daryl did air. I am interested in another shifter.. confusing for sure.

I talked to Herm about using an air or electric solenoid and he said it was a bad idea as they have a tendancy to try to slam the gears into mesh rater then if done by hand where there is some feel to it. Said he had rebuilt a number of them that people had to operate them with a solenoid and they had chewed up teeth from abrupt engagement.

Mount a switch on the shifter like a 2 speed rear....
If I used an air solenoid and cylinder I could adjust the air flow to not slam it into anything.. I do see the issues though.

Does anyone have a pic of their manual shift linkage? If you aren't able to post a, you can text me one. Just PM me and i will get you my number.

I built custom ones for the T-18 setups I had. Its a simple rod from the lever with a 'flag' of metal that goes down and a pin slides through on the shaft out the back of the OD.
