Sm420 T Dana 18 Plate Adapter?

I have owned a pile of T18s, of many variants, IH truck, Jeep Truck, Scout, IH S7 log skidder, C4 Treefarmer, Ford truck, etc. They are a great transmission, small, quiet and take an incredible beating. I am not the sharpest guy on here and I have adapted a number of them. You can do it Tyler. Write down the information. Talk to Novak. I have an SM465 in my CJ6 now, because it was virtually free and like new. It's downside is that it's enormous and heavy. I had not so great luck with my worn out SM420 and parts are indeed harder to source plus quirks like no front seal to deal with. I rebuilt a few for friends and they were ok, but all were louder than any T18. Gather your information, write it down, formulate your plan and work through it.

 

so, if i were to do this swap, i think i would pull the important bits off of a Jeep case, and put 'em on/in a ford case, then adapt to a GM bell.

He sounds pretty eager to get rid of it.
