I have my split bench stashed away for a later date to be recovered. I am running Smittybilt low-back buckets for now.

The bench seats come up every now and then. I have one that took about two years to find the passenger side to complete. Call if about 4 years to find one at a resonable price (less than $250 in my case), and it still needs to be completely reupholstered/restored.
They were used from the mid-50s though around 1965 for the correct coil spring style, as opposed to molded foam cushions. The bench seat was an available option for the CJs, though was standard for the 4 cyl Tuxes.
This Tux looks quite original and has most of the unique Tux features. I hope if you get it, you will restore it back to original, including the color. Keep things like that license bracket/light, chrome Hall tail lights, bumpers, etc. These items are nearly impossible to find.

That's the plan. I'm a bit of a purist when it comes to restorations. My daily is an all original '66 Landcruiser FJ45, and I also do Concours with another project of mine.

Ideally I'd like to polish it up and see what I can get the original paint to look like and preserve the patina and originality as much as possible. I like vehicles that show their history.

Saved it! She's beautiful! Also going home with the original hood and fender. Can't wait to get started on her.

Body needs some straightening, but no rot, and nowhere near as rough as I was expecting. Also runs and drives great

Home now and starting to clean her up. Here's some more pics.

Going at the paint with some CLR ad scotchbrite pads. Will be preserving the patina as much as possible while still making her pretty.

Floorboards are even in decent shape. Just surface rust.

Looks good! Glad you got it and will keep it original. More pictures of it please. And by the way, you do know that some pics of the Land Cruiser posted in Off Topic would be a treat. :)

Looks great man, congratulations. Now, as Glenn just suggested, snap some photos of that land cruiser and send them our way

Haha! Going out for dinner for my wife's birthday (yes I got.a new Jeep on her birthday... She likes it though. )

I'll share some more pics soon.

I feel like this thread should be moved to the restoration section.

Document everything you can with photos! I see you have the left seat base at least. Thats a hard-to-find part. I see the seatbelt mounting screws near the forward edge of the rear bed. Are these #3 or #4 Philips head? These were only installed if you didn't get seatbelts, otherwise, they got forged eye bolts.
Is your rear view mirror at the top of the w/s frame chromed?, the mirror mounting bracket chromed?
I've seen them both ways, but the earlier models were often chrome.
I'm glad you got this to save, and plan on restoring it to original. This Tux looks to be a time capsule with most of its original paint and trim. Way to go!

Start a build thread in the Build/Fabricator section.

    Congrats.

    Toss those hideous seats.
