Stock but probably open the gap up some with the hei. 225 is 035, of231 w hei is 060. Split the difference and start reading the plugs. The of 231 is a lower compression engine in stock form. Good luck with the ta carb:whistle:

I ordered plugs for a 231 odd fire and gapped them to spec. No issues. Ran fine.

Outside the 'Stock Style' I run E3 Plugs and have liked them as there is no GAP to do.

I've also had good luck with E3 spark plugs in my power equipment and automobiles.

Sounds like E3 is a common choice. Might try some of them.
I have some NGK Iridium for now
    We'll see how it goes.
    Thanks All

I struggled with NGK Iridium plugs in older engines....my 2010 Tacoma didn't even like them. I went back to the OEM stock NGKs (not even platinum plugs - have to change every 30k miles). In the jeep I run Delco R45S which is hotter than the original. I think the OEM would have been R44S, but those aren't made any more, and FLAPS gave me R43S (even colder), and had issues with them fouling. I have open the gap up just a bit on them as I run pertronix with slightly hotter coil, and while I think it helps a bit, its probaby all placebo effect.

With all these folks running the E3's got me curious so I searched them out and found some pretty good articles and videos on them so looks like I am gonna snatch me up a set of them sooner or later, right now I am running the NGK Iridiums and they have been ok I was hoping for a little more when I changed to them from Delco's though.
