Starter Drive Question

    I have a spare 6v starter I'm trying to prep for my trip to Indiana. The drive is jammed out. Any tips on getting it off the armature? Pretty sure it's an Autolite model MCH (tag missing).

    Shoot some juice to it & remove- once it spins up the drive should release when the armature slows down.

    I'll try that tomorrow.

    Shouldn't I be able to roll it back in by hand? I can on my other starter.

    Nope, there's an itty bitty ratchet mechanism in there- to release it's gotta be spun up to speed & then over run the shaft.
