    Fellas,
My Valeo clutch came with a steel pilot bushing.
    Have y'all used these?
Or should I look for an all bronze one?

It's probably powdered iron, maybe not bronze, but still oilite. Oilite - Wikipedia Magnifying glass? You should be able to see the pores and grains.

I guess I wouldnt be afraid of it but bronze oilite bushings are cheap enough. Not all white metals are steel, though. Could be some other non-steel soft alloy with pores for oil impregnation.

Some shooters freak out at the thought of shooting mild steel jacketed bullets. While I prefer copper alloy jackets, I've shot cases of steel (thin copper plated) without apparent issues. Barrel still has strong rifling amd shoots acceptably for a service rifle type build. Point being that what seems inappropriate can sometimes be perfectly reliable

Well, it does appear porous, just wondered what everyone else was running, or if it really mattered.

    Thanks,
