So I take my Ross box apart and it has the bearings pictured (plastic cages). When I look that part up it is for a later v6 model.
So do I have a hybred that someone along the way put these bearings in it or swapped in a v6 box, and does it really matter if I use the standard early bearings. Would it be obvious, the diff between the V6 box and the box for a 4cyl? Also there were no snap rings on the shaft.
Shaft is 41-1/2". Thanks in Advance

I've found the bearing with the plastic carrier in F4 boxes, probably just an equivalent p/n from a different manufacturer thing.

The Ross steering box in a V 6 is larger and stronger than the F 134 steering box, according to the Guru's on ECJ 5. I put a V 6 steering box in my 64 F 134. The V 6 has a 7/8" shaft and the F 134 has a 3/4" shaft. I believe that is what they told me, Good Luck
