Anybody here swap a tilt column into their Jeep? I'm a long way from repairing my tub, putting in a roll cage and swapping out seats. When I do the cage I will incorporate some sort of seat mounts and possible notch the wheel well to get some more clearance. For now though I need to do whatever I can to get some more room to get in and out of the jeep. I'm going to be working on the steering, replacing worn components, rebuilding the steering box, etc. While I'm doing that, I'd like to drop in a tilt column. Which ones (if any) have you folks used? I've read somewhere (I forget where) that someone who did this swap liked GM columns better than the Jeep columns. Again, thanks for the help.

I'm on my second tilt column. This time it is a Flaming River one. The PO put in a bone yard Jeep Cherokee (GM) one and it was turely "junk". The GM columns are excellent if you rebuild them before you put them in. About a 30" one will work (Camero's and Firebird's). But if you want one that will not get out of "tune" if abused, get a Flaming River. Cost about 50 bucks more, but worth it IMHO.
