Steering Shaft

My original steering shelf is worn to the point of the ujoint up to having about an 1/8 inch play in all axis and it had the plunger style coupling on the gearbox end, also with a ton of play. I apparently ordered the "HD" steering shaft with a ujoint on each end.
Are these cross compatible or do I need to exchange this and get the one with the "coupling"? Both are listed as for 76 and up CJs.

The style with the bell coupler is the original type. It seems reasonable that the "heavy duty" replacement shafts would have a slip joint and additional u-joint, mimicking the similar, more expensive Borgeson product.
