    Hi group,

I have an opportunity to buy a t98 with transfercase AND overdrive for $500. Its all currently removed out of a jeep that is being parted out. Is there a way to visually know if everything works? Or is the price low enough to take the risk? Based on the price, the seller either doesn't know the real value of the parts, or nothing works properly.

    Thanks,
    Joel

    Sounds like a good bet...

Be sure to get the bellhousing plate adapter if you can. Get as much as the seller will give with the setup. Bell, plate adapter, clutch linkage parts, etc.

Why are you wasting time posting? Is it home yet?

I would have bought it. The individual assembles are worth more than $500 each

My question also, but I don't have the 500 right now. Would love that setup in my '60 Willys!

Don, you sound like my wife, lol. most likely I will not be able to get it this weekend unfortunately, but i will be driving through the area it's in next weekend on my way to my parent's for Christmas. The parts are almost three hours away.
If they haven't sold, I will add to the collection of parts in my garage.
