That's my buddy's. His dad built it and raced it back in the early 80s, he and his sister raced it when they were teens, then it sat in a barn for years until he dug it out and rebuilt it for its opus in the early 90s; that's when I got to co-pilot in it. It's enjoying retirement now. It gets hauled up to the Kempton Willys show every few years for another tour in the spotlight.

Still getting rocked by the f134? I actually found Jeep racing through Facebook. Pretty cool stuff.

Yup, it's all as it was.
There's actually a "Grundsow Too" also. His dad's final build. That one has a Buick 231 with a stretched frontend.

I'm guessing he got right around 75 HP and rather than admit that his old "racing buddy" was feeding him a line of :poo: he either left for good or, as noted earlier, he re-registered with another account. :coffee:

While we wait for the phantom typhoon dyno slip, perhaps we should reflect on what those slips actually tell us. Dyno runs are WOT and, for any engine I want in a Jeep, pretty much completely irrelevant to the real world. For class racing they may be relevant but certainly still of limited use in low speed endurance engine. The only interest to me would be what happened in the zero (or as close to it as you can get and still run) to 2000 rpm range and even then only a part throttle.

There are all sorts of small displacement engines out there that can produce some big hp numbers. But almost every one of them would be totally useless in a non-race Jeep. At least in any Jeep for the use I want from it.

Yep. A lot of people get caught up in the numbers game. The way I see it, a dyno slip, if you're not a bonified paid to drive racer, is nothing more than bragging rights. I'd also like to mention that no two dynos will give the same results and no dyno will give the same results every day even on the same engine. It also bears noting that it's not just the peak number that counts but how quickly you get to that number and at what RPM. There's a lot more to this equation than most people know of.
