First time I actually drove in the rain some with the vacuum wipers. Worked well enough to to drive except 2 things. On the passenger side, the manual is pretty useless and at times down right annoying as it moves around on its own based on the wind. So I assume if I wanted to add a vacuum wipeer on that side, I would just drill the matching holes for mounting? And of course split the vacuum line to it.

As for the driver's side, I got a new arm and blade from Walcks, but the the tension or something is not right. The top 40% of the blade wipes ok, but the bottom 60% doesn't touch the glass except at the tip. What is the best method to address this? Try bending metal ever so slightly? Can the tension be adjusted?

While I don't plan to drive in the rain much, mist can be an actual experience.

Is it possible the motor is mounted in a way that keeps the shaft from sticking out far enough? If that isn't the issue then bending would be my fix.

The wiper arms are very thin as easy to bend to get the proper wiper to windshield pressure/tension for a clean sweep. What’s the condition of the wipers themselves? Should be no binding, blade should be flexible. Like you mentioned, very easy to add the vacuum motor to the passenger side. Just use the drivers side for your hole locations and measurements.
here’s a pic of the blades I used on mine.

Sounds like the spring inside the arm is too weak to pull the blade against the window?
Try a blade that's flat, not curved , or a stronger spring.

One thing I'm not sure on, when adding the passenger vacuum, is the vacuum line just T'ed off or is there some sort of check valve in line? Any pics of how it was originally routed, where the clips were, etc., would be appreciated.

There is a "Y" just before the drivers wiper motor and run the line over to the second motor. No valve.

Mickey, do you have a vacuum pump on your fuel pump? If not you may need a vacuum canister to stabilize your wipers, other wise they will stop when you accelerate. I made one out of a Tomato juice can by soldering copper lines into it to help hold steady vacuum in one of my other cars, Good Luck

Made one from a short piece of 3in pvc pipe and 2 caps.
Be sure to get a one way vac check valve, like on a brake booster,
This keeps vac in can when engine vac falls off.
