    Hello all,

I am getting ready to finalize and wrap up my virtual total replacement of my Saginaw steering. Its a bit of a frankenstein jeep. I am now looking to to replace the Tie Rod Ends, but am not sure what part to buy? Are here variety of sizes so that i will need to remove mine and take to parts store to measure and match? I am just wondering as i would rather look to shop the part to save money. Any help or suggestions appreciated.

PS I understand there is a right and left thread, depending on location. I will replace all but the immediate need is for the one that connects to the pitman arm, but i would replace the other end. I dont feel at this time i will replace the other two between the wheels.

Every CJ regardless of vintage uses the same sized TRE’s.
All are same diameter TRE’s unless you install oversized tie rod diameters.
    2RH and 2LH thread @ 11/16” or .6875.
    ES140R and ES 62L
TRW is likely to be the very best and some of the old Moog also have excellent reputations.
External appearance and shape of actual joints are generally of 2 types .
I’ll see if I can find pics to compare the two shapes that are frequently found.
The wide base design and the wide middle design.
