Wipers

Just in time for the next rainstorm here in San diego...
I now have adustable delay wipers in my CJ.
I used a 4 wire wiper motor for a later model CJ from the local auto parts and the intermitant system from a full size Bronco (87 I think). Jeep Wagons also used the same system. All factory parts and I still can use the original wiper knob. Hardest part was what color Jeep wire goes to what color Ford wire.
This has been posted on other websites for many different vehicles.
If someone is interested I can try and post the wire connections.

ford stuff intergates well into a jeep , I'm running ford 11" brakes ,hubs and a ford t18.

 

Here are pictures of the parts needed.
The original switch is there for comparison. Scale on the black box for size reference.
Black with green trace is power in
Black with white trace is switched power for winshield washer pump if you want to add one.
Jeep wiper motor wire Ford wire

Blue----------------------------------Red
Black---------------------------------Black/pink
Green---------------------------------White
Red-----------------------------------Blue/orange
Cut extra switch shaft length with hacksaw but leave enough lenght for the push to washer pump switch.
Black box bracket must be grounded also the switch ground pigtail.
Switch action is low and high to the right and variable delay to the left with extreme left the longest delay.
Switch fit in original hole and the black box I mounted just to the left of it on the lower dash flange random extra hole.
If the system fails far from home you can just unplug the black box and use a standard ford wiper switch.
There you go, have at it!
