YJ springs

I am looking for some info and picture on how to swap in some YJ springs on the front and rear of my 1974 CJ5. Will the kit for 1976 and up work the same on 75 and down or is there some modifying to get it to work? Any help would be appericated.

 

Crap my bad Ive been trying to find it in the forums but yj doesent meet the required length so I didnt even thank to check the tech area.

 

I used some of that information. I think some of it should be revised. I found that mounting the front springs as that was written moves the front end too far forward. I had interference issues with my pitman arm. I measured from the center pin to the spring eye following the curve of the spring to determine mount placement. I don't remember the exact measurements but I am sure with different brand springs it will be different. There is another thread on this somewhere that I just replied to. I did find that my springs (BDS 3.5" lift) sagged a lot more than I had anticipated. I will be moving my shackle mounting points. I used 76 and up center mounts, rear 76 and up shackle mounts. My spring plates in the rear are rear YJ that I welded shock mounts to. My front spring plates are one YJ stock and one CJ that I welded the holes shut on and re-drilled for the pumpkin side.

I used the same mounts that Jeep Therapy did. Use the mounts for the rear springs of a CJ-7 on all of your springs. Mount them where you want them, so they best fit your Jeep. I do not see any reason to buy a kit.
