OK- I have 75 w/232 and factory carb. I'm driving yesterday and I hit a little pothole. The Jeep stutters and I thought maybe my foot fell off the gas. Kept driving and hit another pothole a quarter-mile later and the engine quit and wouldn't restart. Thoughts?

Either fuel or fire. Check the back of the ignition switch, battery terminals, connections at the coil and distributor first before throwing any parts at it. (Ask me how i know...lol.)

'75 is Prestolite ignition. Notoriously troublesome. Should have a distributor with a plastic advance canister, and a (typically) gold drawn-aluminum-case ignition module.

Read old posts about Prestolite stuff and what to do with it.

Engine turns over - spark seems good. Like it is starved for fuel. No obvious crud or clogs.

Carb cleaner or starter fluid spray down carb make it fire for a moment?

getting two nice squirts of fuel in the throat when you work the throttle?

    fuel tank full of fuel?

The starter fluid worked once last summer when she wouldn't start but not this time. Was only me so I couldn't see if it squirted and then it was wet from the the spray.

Early returns suggest fuel pump is the culprit . At idle, when you tap the fuel pump a time or two it spits air. That is rarely good.
